Overview

As a B Corp certified and employee-owned company, Tribal is proud to serve organisations like Pluss that uphold strong social values and bring transformational change to communities.

Pluss, one of the UK’s longest-standing social enterprises, needed a reliable, people-centred IT partner to support the mobilisation of their Central London Forward (CLF) Connect to Work programme. With staggered start dates, dispersed staff, and tight commissioner deadlines, the onboarding window was small - and the stakes were high.

Tribal ensured every new starter received fully configured IT access on time, provided temporary kits when supply delays arose, and offered responsive, human support that kept the team confident and connected.

About Pluss

Pluss is a leading Community Interest Company with a 45-year history of helping people facing barriers to work. Their mission is to empower individuals and communities to achieve economic independence, social inclusion, and brighter futures - with a particular focus on people who are long-term unemployed, disabled, neurodivergent, ex-forces, single parents, LGBTQ+, care-experienced, homeless, or facing mental-health challenges.

  • 45+ years of social impact
  • 100,000+ people supported
  • Disability Confident Leader
  • 40% of workforce have a disability or health condition
  • Strong partnerships with DWP, NHS, LAs and employers
For a values-driven organisation like Pluss, IT isn’t just about technology - it’s the infrastructure that enables their team to support people and communities when it matters most.

The challenge

Pluss’ Connect to Work team (delivering for Central London Forward) needed to mobilise a large contract quickly - with many new starters joining on staggered dates and many working remotely from day one. The success of mobilisation depended on:

  • IT kits arriving before each starter’s first day
  • Access and configuration working immediately
  • Clear communication during supply delays
  • A smooth onboarding experience for both staff and service users

The challenge wasn’t just logistics - it was ensuring new staff could serve vulnerable Londoners without disruption.

“We work extensively in a hybrid format, which means we need access to the right IT equipment - and on time.”
Sailesh Seepaul, a Regional Service Manager at Pluss

Tribal’s Approach

Tribal supported Pluss with a practical, people-centred mobilisation plan that focused on readiness, reassurance, and continuity.
1. Temporary Kit Provision
When mobilisation delays affected the new kits, Tribal provided temporary equipment to avoid any risk to service start dates.
2. Timely, Planned Provisioning
Tribal coordinated tightly around staggered start dates - ensuring kits arrived a few days early.
3. Fully Prepared Access
New starters received properly configured login access, homepage links, and core applications ready to go.
4. Clear and Consistent Communication
Sailesh describes the communication as proactive and dependable - one of Tribal’s strengths: “There was a dedicated person to support us through our mobilisation. Clear updates on where things were. The communication was always clear.”
5. Responsive, Human Support
Issues raised by the team were resolved quickly - often in one interaction. “Most of the issues I had were fixed within the first interaction… everything was resolved quickly and successfully.” – Sailesh. Tribal’s people-first approach created a sense of stability and trust during the busiest part of mobilisation.

Outcome

Thanks to clear communication, agility, and rapid provisioning, Tribal helped Pluss deliver a seamless onboarding experience for the CLF Connect to Work programme.

Sailesh says it best:

“IT is at the cornerstone of what we do… what is pleasing is the people-centred focus from Tribal. Once we raise a ticket, there’s an acknowledgement and follow-through. Everything the team requested - they got the support they needed.”

Key outcomes included:
  • Zero delays to new starter onboarding
  • Temporary kit deployment to protect service continuity
  • Fully compliant setups, including security controls and mandatory updates
  • Successful access configuration for hybrid workers
  • All issues resolved first-time, with no escalations
  • Stronger confidence in IT as the backbone of community service delivery

"Mobilising and running programmes at Pluss comes with tight deadlines and no room for gaps in IT readiness. Tribal have become a vital partner for us. Their team is proactive, clear in their communication, and genuinely focused on making sure our new starters have everything they need from day one.

What stands out most is the people-centred approach. With one contract, when delays arose, Tribal stepped in with temporary solutions without us even needing to ask. Every kit arrived on time, fully configured, and ready for work - which meant our advisers could focus on supporting participants, not chasing logins or troubleshooting access.

Across onboarding, access, and day-to-day support, Tribal have made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Their fast responses, customer service and attention to detail give us real confidence during mobilisation and doing what we do best at Pluss - serving our communities."
